    What to expect

    Assessment shaped around the person

Rural appointments across the Scenic Rim

Acreage properties, older homes, long driveways, farm sheds and unsealed access all shape what someone can safely do. Assessment in place takes those realities into account rather than assuming a suburban house.

Scenic Rim visits are scheduled alongside Gold Coast and Brisbane travel, with Telehealth used for preparation, follow-up and urgent reviews between visits.

    • Canungra, Tamborine and Mount Tamborine
    • Rathdowney and the wider rural hinterland

    Services available locally

Functional Capacity Assessments, SIL and support needs assessment, assistive technology prescription, minor and complex home modifications, paediatric therapy and ongoing occupational therapy are all available face-to-face and, where suitable, online.

Why rural households are a priority

Long waits for allied health are a practical safety problem, not just an inconvenience. Supporting rural and regional communities is a deliberate part of how this practice is run, which is why Telehealth is offered Australia-wide alongside regular regional travel.

    Visits and availability

Include your town and property access when you enquire. Rural roads, distances between appointments and the location of the activity being assessed affect visit planning. We confirm location, timing and travel arrangements rather than assuming every town has the same availability.

    What to tell us

Mention whether the assessment concerns access around the property, daily tasks at home or participation in your community. For the full referral, include relevant reports and any deadline so the assessment can be planned around the actual question.

    What can happen online

Suitable interviews and follow-ups can happen by Telehealth when distance makes another trip impractical. Unreliable internet, hands-on assessment or equipment trials may change the plan; tell us early so we can discuss alternatives.

Choose the assessment question, not just the report name

An FCA covers everyday function; SIL/support needs looks more closely at assistance across home routines and overnight; SDA focuses on specialist accommodation needs. Equipment trials and home modifications may need a different assessment scope. A report provides evidence, not a guarantee of NDIS funding.

    FCA $2,909.85 · 15 hoursSIL/support needs $4,849.75 · 25 hoursSDA $5,819.70 · 30 hours

These are total assessment-and-report package hours, not appointment-only time. We confirm scope, funding and any travel arrangements before starting. FCA reports are returned within 10 business days of the final appointment and receipt of the required information. We respond to enquiries and referrals within two business days; that is not a promise of an appointment within two days.
