Choosing an NDIS Occupational Therapist — One Practice, Four Regions
The right occupational therapist doesn't just write reports — they get to know you, your world, and the people in your corner. Here's what to look for, the assessments that unlock NDIS funding, and how we work across the Gold Coast, Adelaide, the Riverland and Mackay.
One practice, four regions
Today & Tomorrow Allied Health Services provides mobile occupational therapy across the Gold Coast, Adelaide, South Australia's Riverland and Mackay — with Telehealth available wherever a visit isn't practical.
Gold Coast, Queensland
From the northern suburbs through the central coast to the southern beaches and hinterland, assessments happen where you actually live — at home, at school, or out in the community.
Functional Capacity Assessments — Gold CoastRiverland & Murraylands, South Australia

Functional Capacity Assessments — AdelaideMackay & Whitsundays, Queensland
Mackay, the Pioneer Valley and the Whitsunday fringe — scheduled regional visit blocks combined with Telehealth, so your assessment never sits on a waitlist.
Functional Capacity Assessments — MackayThe assessments that unlock NDIS funding
Most funding decisions — plan reviews, SIL, SDA, equipment — hinge on one thing: strong functional evidence. These are the assessments that provide it.
Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA)
A whole-of-life assessment of what you can do, what you want to do, and the supports that bridge the gap — the evidence the NDIA uses for plan reviews, SIL and SDA decisions.
Learn about FCAsAssistive Technology (AT)
Trialling, scripting and justifying equipment — from wheelchairs and seating to everyday tech — so funding requests are approved with clear, itemised evidence.
Assistive technology servicesSIL, SDA & Housing Assessments
Functional evidence for Supported Independent Living and Specialist Disability Accommodation, grounded in how you live in your actual home — not a clinic simulation.
Housing evidence via FCAWhat to look for in a local NDIS OT
Look for an OT who assesses you in your real environments — home, work, school, community — not only in a clinic room.
Ask whether they write reports the NDIA can act on first time: clear functional evidence, measurable recommendations, and costed supports.
Check they understand your region. Housing, transport and community access on the Gold Coast look very different to the Riverland — your report should reflect that.
Confirm how travel and waitlists work upfront, and whether Telehealth is an option for follow-ups.
Choose someone who involves your whole support network — family, coordinators and other therapists — in goal setting.
Not near one of our regions? Telehealth appointments are available for many assessment components, reviews and follow-ups across Australia.
From the practice
Julie's story — Berri, Riverland
"After years of being told 'maybe next plan', Derek's Functional Capacity Assessment changed everything. He came out to my home in Berri, watched how I actually manage day-to-day, and wrote it all down in a way the NDIS finally listened to. My assistive technology was approved first go, and I got every support we asked for. I finally feel like the plan was written for me."
