Regional visits are planned around referrals and a workable travel schedule. Include your town, distances and access to a rural property, and any report deadline. We discuss the next visit opportunity and confirm travel arrangements in writing before work starts.
Tell us which local activities and supports need to be understood—not just the address of the home. With consent, family or local support workers can contribute information about routines and community access. Appointment grouping is considered where practical, not guaranteed.
Interviews, report review and suitable team meetings can happen by Telehealth between visits. Tell us if internet coverage is unreliable. Equipment trials, hands-on tasks or precise measurements may still require a visit or an agreed local-provider arrangement.
An FCA covers everyday function; SIL/support needs looks more closely at assistance across home routines and overnight; SDA focuses on specialist accommodation needs. Equipment trials and home modifications may need a different assessment scope. A report provides evidence, not a guarantee of NDIS funding.
FCA $2,909.85 · 15 hoursSIL/support needs $4,849.75 · 25 hoursSDA $5,819.70 · 30 hours
These are total assessment-and-report package hours, not appointment-only time. We confirm scope, funding and any travel arrangements before starting. FCA reports are returned within 10 business days of the final appointment and receipt of the required information. We respond to enquiries and referrals within two business days; that is not a promise of an appointment within two days.
Local, mobile, thorough
A Functional Capacity Assessment is only as strong as the evidence behind it — and the strongest evidence comes from seeing how life actually works. That's why our Riverland FCA service is fully mobile: we assess in your home, on your property, and in the local community spaces you use every day.
Living in regional South Australia brings its own opportunities and challenges. Older homes with steps, wide rural blocks, river shacks, retirement villages, limited public transport, and the distance to Adelaide all shape what "functional" looks like for you. An occupational therapist who understands the Riverland captures that context — and it makes a real difference to the quality of your report.
Confirm the right scope before booking. Ask about FCA, SIL/support needs, SDA, assistive technology or home modification assessment. We confirm which services and appointment formats are suitable for your situation and location; hands-on work or equipment trials may need a planned visit or local collaboration.

Where we go
If your town isn't listed, ask — if you're in the Riverland, Murraylands or nearby regional SA, we can discuss current availability and travel arrangements.

The local advantage
No long drive to a city clinic. Assessment happens in your home, on your property, or in your local town — wherever your functional capacity is most honestly shown.
Riverland homes range from historic stone cottages and farmhouse properties to newer builds, river shacks and retirement villages. That variety shapes access, safety, and the supports you need — and we document it in SIL, SDA and home modification evidence.
From main-street shopping strips and community centres to riverfront parks and local clubs, we assess participation in the places that matter here — not in a simulated city clinic.
Every report maps your functional needs to NDIS funding categories in language planners recognise — supporting plan reviews, change of circumstances, SIL, SDA and assistive technology requests.
How it works
Submit the online referral form or get in touch by phone or email. Support coordinators, plan managers, GPs, families and participants can all refer.
Within two business days we'll talk through goals, confirm your Riverland or Murraylands location, advise you of the next available face-to-face visit, and book your first session — face-to-face, Telehealth or a mix — with no surprises on cost or timing.
Sessions happen at your home and in your community at an agreed location in the Riverland region — or via Telehealth if that suits you better. Most FCAs involve one to three sessions.
Your evidence-based report is completed within 10 business days of the final session, written for the NDIA, your support coordinator and your wider team.
Our all-inclusive FCA package is 15 hours ($2,909.85 at $193.99 per hour). It includes interviews, assessment appointments, liaison, analysis and the completed report. Appointment length and the number of sessions are agreed around your needs; the package hours are not appointment-only time. We confirm the fee and funding in writing before work begins. Funding accepted: self-managed and plan-managed NDIS, private paying, and My Aged Care. See our FCA, SIL and SDA package pricing.
