    Step 1

    What paediatric occupational therapy covers

Occupational therapy helps children take part in the activities of childhood — playing, dressing, eating, writing, learning and joining in with others. Assessment looks at the child's skills, the demands of the activity and the environments where it happens.

Sessions use the child's interests as the vehicle for skill building, so progress feels like play rather than practice.

    • Self-regulation and sensory needs
    • Handwriting, scissors and fine motor skills
    • Balance, coordination and gross motor play
    • Dressing, mealtimes, sleep routines and toileting

    Step 2

    How assessment and therapy work

A first appointment gathers history, priorities and goals with the family. Standardised assessment, observation and, where consent is given, input from kindy or school build a full picture. Reports set out functional impact, goals and clear recommendations for NDIS or private funding.

    Step 3

    Where sessions happen

Appointments are available at home and in the community across the Gold Coast (postcodes 4209–4226), Brisbane (4000–4179), Logan (4114–4207), the Scenic Rim and the Northern Rivers, during regular travel to Adelaide, the Riverland and Mackay, and by Telehealth anywhere in Australia — often the fastest option for rural and regional Queensland families.

    • Home and community visits
    • School and kindy collaboration with consent
    • Telehealth Australia-wide
    • Parent and carer coaching between sessions
